Practicing silhouettes, especially poses since I noticed that I keep habitually drawing a hand on a hip or something like that. Gonna hopefully draw AT LEAST 10 more to force me to think outside of the box.

I think I accidentally turned this month into “Draw things, or at least one thing, you don’t usually draw” month. I’m almost scared of drawing her riding the broom… Therefore… I have to draw it.

Haha, the length/size of her skirt keeps changing…

Followers might figure by now that I’ve been practicing drawing faces (in this case, practicing drawing dudes in general too), and that I lurve Beowulf to death.

Quick sketch. Messed with colors ‘cause she’s the only real “drow colored” character. Experimented with noses ‘cause I’m still learning how to draw…

THIS is the character I have to eventually do armor studies for. I might have to keep playing around with her facial structure and hair to better sell her “battle-hardened knight of the north that can shapeshift into a wolf” aspects.

I don’t draw cute things. Felt like attempting something new and different. It was semi-challenging.

…BTW, I DID attempt to continue several of my WIP’s. For some of them, even with notes, the anatomy felt off, so I let them be until I can figure it out. For the others, I hit a block and am not sure how to fix them to make the pieces more cohesive.

Here’s a character I haven’t drawn since 2010. A quick drawing though, and I’m not sure if I drew her right, especially since I never drew her in profile before, wanted to avoid her wind-swept hair messing up my attempts at drawing her face, and she seems hardly recognizable without her armor…

I definitely have to make time to draw 100+ faces/skulls someday. In profile, her face has almost too much in common with another long-eared character I have (namely around the bridge of her nose) and it bugs me… The other long-eared character was always meant to have something like a Roman nose.

This character? Her original picture featured her having a long and narrow (yet NOT Roman) nose, but really stylized and before I learned facial proportions. She was also meant to have something like a stiff upper lip. None of these were achieved, I think… I definitely struggled with her lips and nose.

I’m afraid of the impending armor studies I’ll have to do in the future.

Been having a crummy, stressed out week… Doodled silhouettes because I never tried doing that before. I also attempted drawing a main character I didn’t nail a design for yet too. Cloaky-hoods + not knowing how the character looks yet = Not super fun to draw

Should’ve drawn a floor to work with to get the heights better. The one in the middle should be the tallest, unsure if the one to the right should be the same height as the one to the left, even if she’s the oldest. Unsure if their personalities “read”, seeing as these poses could be from any part of their respective stories. The one on the left “reads” the least though, in my opinion… Curse you, straight ahead/lack of line of action.

I bet the vast majority of my Tumblr followers are here primarily for Skullgirls stuff, only to be disappointed by me RELEARNING HOW TO DRAW MY OC’S. WHOOPS!!

I draw when I’m stressed. I’ve been SUPER stressed. Doodles of some of the supporting characters of my story since I’ve been drawing one of the antagonists waaayy more often than the actual main characters, haha~ That’s what happens when creatures/monsters/animals are your comfort zone… I’ll complete those drawings when I’m not drowning.

This’d only be a quick sketch to keep my hands in shape, I said…

I have other WIP drawings to work on, so this should just be a simple doodle, I said…

UGH. THEN, THE CHARACTER GOT TOO FUN TO DRAW AGAIN. AND CHALLENGING. I initially wanted to draw her strangling a victim (i.e. the viewer/you), but not only was that too hard for me to draw (at the moment), but in-story… VERY few characters are actually large enough to be strangle-able, so I took the opportunity art what might as well be one of her scenes.

I didn’t really think this one through, so… Count on her arms being fixed because of the crappy foreshortening/perspective (despite her capability to detach herself, to an extent), slapping myself into learning to properly draw floating cloth, and trying to figure out how to better convey depth. And death.

Is Lis S. Still Amazing? Signs point to yes!

WIP 2nd Ms. Fortune fanart attempt, pass 3.

Took care of some anatomy errors I noticed, and made an adjustment or two based on suggestions, or the ones I knew how to manage, anyways.

For the time being, I can’t really think of anything else to fix (except for maybe the belt), so the next passes may be the final lines and colors. If there’re errors I’ve missed, please point them out and offer suggestions on how to fix it!

Torn on whether the legs are working with or against the piece as a whole… If they take away from the “impact”, I might artistically crop them or remove them, seeing as she mainly use her hooves as brakes. They’re meant to mostly dangle when she flies/floats around. She wears heels in her human form because they feel the most like her zebra-legs~

She usually has crazier, more interesting looking stripes for her arms, but I thought they’d be too much of a pain to keep consistent should she be animated someday. If I’m particularly masochistic, I’d want to try pulling off a Chesire Cat effect with the stripes since she has a tendency to go in and out of invisibility… For crying out loud, I heard only the best Disney animators could animate tigers like Shere Khan and Raja because of their stripes… Ah well. I might try zig-zags instead later; I hope they don’t end up looking too similar to another character’s tiger-like “sleeve tattoos”.

Another option is to nix the stripes altogether since her human form’s arms don’t have any.
